Outdoor sports

 

Are you a dare devil or ready to conquer your fear of heights? There are several outdoor activities offered at Le Peyral that will appeal to adventurous holiday makers!

The outdoor sports activities are organized between 10 July and 25 August by 2SUR5. This is a certified Dutch company that only works with qualified instructors or trainees. 2SUR5 has the necessary permits to organize their activities in the region and they offer a challenging range of activities.

Canyoning

This is top-notch adventure. Together with the instructors you descend while jumping, sliding, or scrambling in a gorge with challenging waterfalls and natural water slides. The appropriate clothing and necessary safety equipment are provided.

Climbing and Abseiling

Equipped with the appropriate safety materials, you can brave to climb a mountain wall, and because “what goes up must come down” you will abseil your way back down the rockface! Several routes are possible in the climbing area, which means that there is enough challenge for everyone.

Caving

An adventure exploring a cave that has been around for thousands of years! At some points of the adventure you will have to crawl on your stomach through a narrow corridor so you can enter breath-taking rooms inside the cave. Appropriate equipment including a helmet with lamp on it will be provided.

Archery

Robin Hood is nothing compared to this. During a short introduction you will be taught the tricks to become an accomplished archer. After that there will be a fun but exciting competition in age categories. In the end, the winners are rewarded with a surprise. Young and old can participate in this.

Tree climbing

The thickest and tallest tree on the domain was specially chosen by the boys of 2SUR5. Under their expert guidance and with the necessary safe tools, those who have Tarzan blood can climb to the top of the tree. Whoever reaches the highest point may then carry the title "Master Tree-climbing Guru"!

Cycling

Whether you want to climb a mountain with a racing bike or discover the rugged roads with a mountain bike, Wikiloc has many bicycle tours. You can also map endless routes with GPS. At the tourist information office in the village you can also get pre-printed trails for a small price.
You can rent bicycles at the beach of Lac du Raviège. The area around the campsite is particularly mountainous so you won't get far on a city bike.

Walking

Discover the beautiful surroundings on a walking tour. Hiking with GPS works fine and is the best way to get to know the region. There are also many routes on Wikiloc and marked walks are offered from the tourist office.

You can also go on an adventure and determine your route yourself! However do note that it is a gigantic untouched area and you can easily get lost. Always bring a good map, compass, water and food.

Horse and donkey riding

In the nearby villages there are several options for riding a donkey or a horse for an hour or more.

There are various flyers in the Chouette with locations where you can do this. This can be done at locations close to the campsite, or on a short drive which you can combine with other picturesque sights.

Water sports

The campsite is in the middle of 2 large reservoirs where there are various water sports on offer. They are about 10 minutes by car. You have a monitored swimming zone on both lakes, and you will also find a surf and sailing school and options to rent pedal boats or motorboats.
Near the beaches there is a wide range of leisure activities such as; mini golf, swimming pools, a playground, volleyball, ropes course, etc.

Golfen

To play golf you have to drive a little further. Golf courses can be found around several towns in the middle of beautiful nature. The nearest golf course is Golf Lamalou Les Bains and is an hour's drive away.

Fishing

In the entire area around the campsite there are numerous rivers and lakes where you can fish. The region is mainly known for trout fishing.
